CONDITIONS OF ENTRY - You may enter either 4 slides or 4 digital images, but not both. Report cards will be sent to each entrant within 5 days after the judging. Our acceptance rate is normally 30-35%. A catalog will be sent to all entrants.
Two PSA Gold Medals will be awarded by the judges for the “Best of Show” and “Best Creative” slides or digital images, plus three HM awards. Creative photography may be defined as “altered reality.” It is not necessary to mark entries for consideration for this award.
Entries must originate as photographs (image/captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright. Images may be altered, either digitally or otherwise, by the maker and
artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic content predominates. All final work must be on photographic film or on digital file.
Once an image has been accepted in Greater Lynn, that same image, or a like “in camera” or a reproduction duplicate of that image may not be reentered in the same format in the same section in that exhibition regardless of its title. Nor may it be re-titled for resubmission in Greater Lynn or another PSA recognized exhibition. The exhibition is open to anyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to exhibition rules and conditions.

An entrant’s four images will be distributed throughout four rounds of judging.

DIGITAL ENTRANTS: Fill out the online entry form, upload your images, and payment options (via PayPal or check).

SLIDE ENTRANTS: Slides must be 2” x 2” mounts. Ready mounts (cardboard, plastic or glassbound mounts) are acceptable. PayPal is available only for foreign slide payment on club website. Slides must be clearly marked with the title, sequence number, maker’s name and address, and must be spotted in the lower left hand corner as viewed normally.

CLUB ENTRANTS: If you are submitting as a club, all of your entries must be submitted to Susan Mosser in the same package regardless of media— slides or digital. Digital image files must be submitted on CD. Use the pre-printed entry form in this flyer. Do NOT use the online form. Individual CDs are not necessary, all digital entries for the club may be submitted on the same CD. CDs will NOT be returned. No email submissions will be accepted. PayPal is available only for foreign club payment on club website. USA clubs cash or check only please. The corresponding number on the entry form should contain the title of the image—not the file name (your name).

PREPARING DIGITAL IMAGES FOR ENTRY: The projector is set for 1024 x 768 pixels. Your image dimensions should be within these numbers but does not necessarily need to match this ratio. Normally, you will set the width at 1024 for horizontal images, and set the height at 768 for vertical
images. By using the “Constrain Proportions” option, you only need to set one dimension, and your image editing software will make the appropriate setting for the other dimension, and it may not be the number indicated here. For example, you may set your width to 1024, and using “Constrain
Proportions,” the height dimension may be set at 681. This will project correctly. Resolution must be at least 200 for purposes of reproduction in our color catalog. Your files should be saved as a JPEG file. The sRGB color space is recommended. Do not use further compression. File size can not exceed 2M.

Note: GLPA takes great pride in reproducing a high quality COLOR CATALOG apporximately 60 pages long with over 32 color reproductions. Therefore, slide/images with no reproduction rights will not be eligible for medals.

Our GLPA GOLD medals are mounted on a thick walnut stained wood block with a gold colored plate inscribed with the medal category, year, winner's name, and slide title.
